She is probably the worlds best known wild elephant, having been featured in the three 'Echo of the Elephants' films and most recently 'Unforgettable Elephants'. Echo died May 3rd, 2009 in Amboseli. It is believed she died from a combination of old age (estimated to be 64 years) and the long three-year drought Amboseli has been experiencing.
