Subject: cheetah family at dusk - Masai Mara Dimensions (inches): 22 x 30 x 1.5 Medium: oil on deep canvas - painting wrapped over sides Description: While with Simon Combes art safari group in October 2004, we saw this cheetah family, mum and the 3 'teens' several times. They were such a good team, with obvious affection for each other. At dusk, the grass shone like gold, much like snow sparkling in the moonlight. I really wanted to convey this, plus all the fabulous colour of the plains landscape. Simon said that the mum would leave the 'kids' to fend for themselves within a few months or weeks.
