Subject: hooded mergansers Dimensions (inches): 14 x 22 Medium: water mixable oil on canvas Description: Saw the sparkling ice and water with different ducks in front. Substituted hooded mergansers I saw just a little further down the creek. There is pearlized paint over the ice & in the birds' highlights which was used to get the icy sheen, but it doesn't show in a photograph.
