Subject: Arctic Iceberg Dimensions (inches): 12 x 16 Medium: Oil on panel Description: As we boarded the ship this past summer for our Students on Ice Climate Change Expedition, we were told that the sea ice had melted completely this year. When I first started studying climate change in 2006, it was anticipated that the Arctic might be completely free of summer sea ice in 30 years. Four years later, we were saddened to see the effects of climate change. Icebergs were the only ice we were to see on this voyage.
