Golden-cheeked Warbler in Big-toothed Maple
(1991)
Dimensions (inches): 22 x 30 Medium: oil on primed watercolor paper Description: The Golden-cheeked Warbler breeds only in the Edward's Plateau of central Texas. This painting shows the bird in Big-toothed Maple in early spring. I chose oil as the medium best suited to catch the pale-green filtered light of spring foliage.
This painting has been reproduced in 'Modern Wildlife Painting', by Nicholas Hammond, Yale University Press, 1998, p. 83.
