Split Rail Vigil
(2015)
Subject: American Kestrel Dimensions (inches): 12 x 9 Medium: Acrylic Description: American Kestrel resting on alert on a Split Rail fence (Manitoulin Island, ON Canada). These fences are used extensively on Manitoulin Island because the bedrock is shallow and post holes are difficult to make. The design of these fences allow them to hold cattle in while being a free-standing structure constructed out of split cedar logs.
