Description: The Leatherback Sea Turtle has been on the earth for 110 million years--it survived the meteor collision thought to have extinguished the dinosaurs. This species is critically endangered due to loss of nesting-beaches, nest predation by humans, and drowning in massive nets used by shrimpers and long-line fishermen.
