Chagrin Valley Thaw - Bright morning light in mid-winter snow by David Rankin
  Chagrin Valley Thaw  (2005)
Subject: Bright morning light in mid-winter snow
Dimensions (inches): 12 x 9
Medium: transp watyercolor on 140lb Arches rough
Description: I love this subject theme, streams cutting through deep snow. In this painting I was trying to capture the extreme softness of some shadows while others are more distinct. But it's the bright late morning light that provides a quiet, yet up-beat cheerful mood, just as bright winter light always provides.
