Smith for San Antonio, TX. the first mayor of San Antonio under the Republic of Texas. He supported and served Texas during the struggle for Texas Independence. Smith the last messenger sent by Col William Travis in 1836. He rode out to get reinforcements for the Alamo. The sculpture is 12.5 feet in height and placed at the Alamo. The Alamo Sculpture Trail is placed between the Alamo and the Briscoe Western Art Museum. Bronze maquettes height 21.5''
