Subject: Winter landscape & saw-whet owl Dimensions (inches): 15.25 x 8.5 Medium: Oil Description: In mid-winter after a fresh snowfall I often don snow-shoes and explore the nearby woods or waterfront. One particular morning was absolute in its silence, the only faint sound being my own muffled footsteps which disappeared completely the moment I stood still. This became the focus of the painting, with all pictorial elements being manipulated to serve this one singular aspect.
