  Australian Marine Conservation Society
The Australian Marine Conservation Society is the voice for Australia's coasts and oceans. They work with local communities to protect ocean life and the habitats they call home. They are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been operating for over forty years. Their conservation work is funded through the generous support of Australians who want to give something back.
The Society is a registered tax deductible charity that is overseen by an eight member Board with representatives from business, industry, government and community. Head office is in Brisbane, Queensland, and a regional office in Darwin, Northern Territory. We also has active branches in most Australian states and the Northern Territory.   Although their conservation mandate is wide, the Society works strategically with its thousands of supporters, governments, scientists and industry partners to deliver on our core campaigns. These include Marine National Parks, Sustainable Fisheries, Threatened Species, Coasts and Climate Change.
Work focuses on: Advocating the establishment of marine national parks Protecting Australia's marine wildlife and their habitats Protecting and recovering threatened species Ensuring that society's use of marine natural resources is sustainable Promoting the reduction of pollution and marine debris Educating and working with local communities Using the best possible science to advocate for best practice Providing Australians with the Sustainable Seafood Guide which enables them to choose their seafood responsibly Addressing unsustainable and inappropriate coastal development

Art for ConservationTM Commitment Goal:
$5,000.00 US.

Australian Marine Conservation Society has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Australian Marine Conservation Society.

AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Australian Marine Conservation Society. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
