I went out twice with the Anti-Poaching Unit (APU) and school children from the Bushcamp. The first time was to an area near the edge of the national park where we found 30 snares set in some low bushes. These are removed and the wire is used by artisans at the Art Center to make animal masks for sale. The APU use whistles and birdcalls to communicate to each other when they walk as they are often separated in thick bush. This also helps them ambush poachers returning to check their snares. (The children shown here are from the private Harare International School.)
